            {  an  authentic  gale  weathers  laugh  rings  through  the  air  at  the  unbridled  excitement  from  the  younger,   easily  allowing  tara  to  take  the  photo.   it's  obviously  not  something  she's  going  to  argue;  in  her  (right)  opinion,   her  daughter  is  the  cutest  thing  to  ever  exist.  }    if  anyone  could  convince  her,   it'd  be  you.    {  she  grins,  watching  amusedly  as  tara  marvels  at  the  sight.  }    we  haven't  even  gotten  to  the  baby  photos  yet.  if  you  think  that's  cute,  you  should've  seen  her  at  her  first  birthday.   she  didn't  know  what  to  do  with  the  cake,  so  dewey  put  frosting  on  her  nose.   she  took  that  to  mean  she  should  apply  the  cake  like  a  skincare  routine  :')

            fuck!!   this is actually the cutest thing i've seen in like my entire life.  [  after a gasp, tara reaches for the photograph and marvels at it with excited, doting eyes. she's giddy, not with the ammo to embarrass ellie at all. no, she just loves the fucking proof that ellie-marie has always been the cutest thing to exist in this world. ]    her hair looks fuckin' ridiculous. i could convince her to recreate this. no, i've GOTTA convince her to recreate this!   :')

            some  women  aren't  meant  to  be  mothers.    {  a  fact  that  gale  tries  to  force  herself  to  believe  doesn't  apply  to  her  is  meant  to  act  as  support  now,   her  heart  seeming  to  ache  for  the  younger  in  a  way  she  forgets  she  can  feel.  }    just  'cause  she  resents  sam  for  a  choice  (she)  made  doesn't  give  her  a  right  to  act  like  that.   you  both  deserve  better,   kid.    ( .. )    i  did  the  same  thing.   to  my  mom.   i  cut  her  off  two  weeks  after  i  graduated  high  school,   never  spoke  to  her  again.   haven't  regretted  it,   but  you  can't  help  but  be  bitter.   no  kid  should  get  to  that  point.

            no, yeah  --  fuck her.   [  it's harder than tara lets on. her happiness in having sam back in her life counteracts any grudge she might hold against a so-called mother who couldn't spare more than a few minutes of her time for a forced phone call when tara was attacked. the way she treated sam was the final blow. ]   i don't regret it,, cutting her off. it felt like she never gave a shit. i  -  i think i'm just pissed off that she could treat sam like that.

            your  investment  in  my  romantic  life  is  concerning  at  best.    {  gale  offers  the  quip  with  a  determined  turn  of  her  head,   busying  herself  with  digging  through  her  purse  rather  than  looking  at  the  younger.  }    first  of  all,   that  was  an  interaction  between  two  (adults).    second  of  all,   neither  of  us  are  old,   and  third  of  all,   i  highly  doubt  you  want  us  making  out  in  front  of  you.   i  might  not  be  entirely  in  touch  with  what  people  your  age  enjoy,  but  i  (know)  it's  not  two  fifty-somethings  sucking  face.
