⠀⠀⠀meredith still couldn’t comprehend the events from the other day — she was gone for a day ,, a single day ! ! maybe if she had been in attendance at the meeting things would have gone differently ? she couldn’t help but ponder this idea . the female had locked herself in the bathroom — one of the very few places she was able to be alone . she couldn’t wrap her head around all the emotions surrounding the last week . . well ,, more like month . .
⠀⠀⠀all of these emotions all at once ,, why now of all times ? so very inconvenient . deep down she felt an intense fear . fear for her kingdom . . && selfishly a bit for herself . she also felt something warm — love ? she felt selfish , feeling somewhat happy during such sad times . the princess bad finally allowed herself to come to terms with her growing feelings for ramses ( she’d ‘ liked ’ him for a rather long time but she would rather die before admitting it ) ; those feelings provoked some deep fears in her though .
⠀⠀⠀he was always on the frontlines — being the head of the royal guard squad & all ,, a small part of her regretted recommending him for that position . & that part of her made her feel extremely guilty . no other guard was worthy of the position & she fully knew that , but her heart wanted something else . a small sigh escaped her lips , brushing her long locks behind her ear . she pulled her knees to her chest .
⠀⠀⠀she jumped slightly ,, hearing && seeing the door knob shake violently . “ hey — ! occupied ! ” she yelled with a hint of sass in her voice . why does everyone always have to be up in her business . every . single . second .

⠀⠀⠀she simply gave him a shrug with a sly smile — as if to say that was for her to know && him to find out . the princess looked away from him after he placed his light kiss on her cheek ,, rather embarrassed . what if the other guards were watching ?? not that she cared if they knew or anything — it was just embarrassing to be seen in such a manner by her people . meredith was never a fan of public events ; you could say it was due to the easy manner her cheeks became enflamed in .
⠀⠀⠀she couldn’t help but be a bit sad herself — deep down in her stomach an intense worry began to brew . she did her best to hide it from the other though ,, offering a small ( . . forced ) smile . “ already ?? . . i wish we could stay here longer but i know duty is calling . ” for once the princess had revealed her slightly selfish thoughts ,, hiding her fuchsia colored cheeks from him .
⠀⠀⠀she intertwined their fingers ,, rubbing his calloused hand gently with her thumb . politely ,, the girl bid her goodbyes && thanks to the servants && the other guards who had been there to supervise . meredith let out a small sigh of both contentness && sadness ,, she was happy but yet felt a slight sadness as their rendezvous is coming to an end . “ . . thank you for today . i really needed it ,, probably more than you know . ” at this point she help his arm captive close to her body .
/ ; me too . i never thought i’d say it but i actually miss going to school . i miss seeing my classmates && teachers .

━━━ & @seasfoam as the other fixes his hair , he couldn’t help but feel slightly embarrassed . was it that messy ? he scratched the back of his neck as he lets out a small chuckle . his dark hues only looking at they princess , as she played with strands of his hair .. he couldn’t help but find it cute “ are you saying that my hair is cute or that i’m cute ? — because between the two of us .. i think you’re the cutest . “ he said , placing a small kiss on her cheek . he looked around a bit , seeing if anybody was looking at them . thankfully , his squad was pretty much talking amongst themselves . letting out a sigh of relief , he looked back at the princess “ i think it’s time for you to head back to your room , meredith .. it’s almost sundown . “ he said with a slightly sad tone , he knew that probably after today . he won’t be able to see her for quite sometime , now that the two mysterious kingdoms joining forces .. it could be dangerous for her . he held out his hand for her to take once again , the same as he did before when they were going to the garden . he waited until she took his hand , a small smile appearing on his features as he led her out of the garden . thanking the servants and the gardeners , upon walking the halls of the palace . he hummed a bit , giving the others hand a gentle squeeze . /; tbh — I’d rather have school back cuz i can’t keep track on online classes :’))

⠀⠀⠀she was a bit surprised to be so abruptly pushed back — had she said something wrong ?? well ,, clearly not because next thing she saw was his show stopping smile && she felt herself being lifted && spun . it was in that moment ,, the princess felt herself fall even harder for the male . even she had never seen him smile quite like that . . she found his excitement so cute . she couldn’t hold back a bright smile of her own .
⠀⠀⠀the princess loosely wrapped her arms around the other ,, snuggling into his embrace . “ you really are too sweet to me ,, you know . ” she dabbed the corners of her eyes gently with her sleeve . she was not trying to start full blown crying ,, having her makeup run && what not ,, but she was so genuinely happy . her already rosey cheeks deepened in color ,, she couldn’t help it . his actions were so undeniably adorable .
⠀⠀⠀meredith reached up to fix his bangs ,, all of that spinning had his hair looking a bit messier than normal . she twirled a small piece of his hair in her fingers , a small smile settling on her lips . “ your hair . . ” she laughed lightly ,, “ you’re so cute . ” her little comment about his hair was well earned though ,, she always loved making little comments about it here and there .
