Been a while. And it will still be a while. But I hope this holds you over in the meantime:

Monthly update time, folks!

Time. For some of us, the more we pay attention to it, the faster it seems to speed by. For others, the more we focus on time, the longer we feel stuck in the same place. It's a game of expectations and managing our thoughts.

I recently read an interesting article about how time seems to speed by faster as we get older because we experience fewer memorable moments (first-time moments). Maybe that is why I hardly noticed this month vanish into thin air - or maybe it was the madness of tax season and other obligations or meeting the famed artist Jim Lee (yes, of Marvel fame).

Whatever the reason, time has passed. I did find enough of it to spill more thoughts through poems, and I was almost tempted to start a new poetry book to share them. However, I think I will remain with the single book for now (as it is, I don't think any one has even read through all the poems in it).

For prose, editing did not happen at all this month. I was a bit too busy and a bit unmotivated to trudge through it in the moments I found some respite. I did come up with a few ideas to flesh out other works in progress, and I spent a little more time than usual this month on design work than writing. That being said, I hope to have something to share with all of you in the coming month. I'm not promising anything just yet, but I am getting closer to presenting at least something (whether a continued chapter, an edited chapter, a short story, or something else entirely, I am not quite sure).

If you haven't had the chance to read through all my work here, you don't even have to wait to read more! But if you are waiting, I will do my best to end the drought soon. :)

          As always, friends: Take care.

Hello wonderful people,

It's been about a month since my last news for you all, so it's about time to update you once again. I'll try and keep these updates fairly regular since I am no longer able to post daily poems. It should help remind you I am not yet dead ;).

I have had little time to work on writing in the past month, but I have been going through some of my editing work and jotting down notes of where to focus. OAF still requires some heavy rewriting, and with the focus shifting to only four characters instead of six, it's a larger endeavor than I've had time to complete quickly, unfortunately. Coffee Cakes is at a similar impediment with the inability to focus time and energy into it at the moment, but I have jotted notes for what I've written so far of this as well.

I do have a couple short projects lined up that I would love to get out to all of you as soon as my schedule clears up a bit, so expect those before any major progress on the novels. All I can say about those is that if you are a fan of either my poetry or A Cuticle in the Space Station, you should enjoy what's to come when it comes.

I may also throw in a temporary story exclusive to my followers as I've been doing in the last six months, but those are more dependent on sudden urges of inspiration and motivation and brevity all coinciding. So the chances of that are... actually pretty possible.

I want to thank all of you who have remained loyal fans of my work and especially those who have encouraged, voted, or left comments to brighten my day or hone my craft. I hope not to keep you waiting too long.

          Best,
          Sean

Welp, it looks like Wattpad has arbitrarily limited the number of parts you can have under one title, so any updates to my book of poetry are basically impossible now. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no desire to post a separate book to add more poems which are not specifically themed, so you probably won't be seeing any more from me unless wattpad decides to go back to its earlier allowances of unlimited chapters. I was hoping to hit at least 365 to have a poem a day, but it's been locked down now at 312.

I'll still be posting and updating my fiction, though you won't have my poetry to tide you over in the lapses between those. I'm not really sure why they saw the need to enforce such an arbitrary limit, especially when it affects a very limited number of their users, but I think it's clear the choices made by the admins generally make no sense to me whatsoever, smh.

In any case, stick around and I'll do my best to keep you entertained. I just ask you to stick with me with a little more patience than before now.

          Thanks!
          SAL
