Percy and Annabeth are Odysseus and Penelope’s reincarnations and the options are either: Percy is Odysseus and he specifically requested to be reborn as a son of Poseidon to spite him (and Annabeth is Penelope, because she’s a badass Spartan). The other option is Percy is Penelope and Annabeth is Odysseus, because Penelope is loyal and Odysseus has hubris. Also, Odysseus is protected by Athena so it makes sense his reincarnation is one of Athena’s best children
