❛you shouldn’t be out here by yourself.❜ Wandering around in the middle of the night wasn't an ideal situation. Wandering around the Forbidden Forest in the middle of the night was even less so. But Lyle needed something from there and this was unfortunately the only hour he could manage to sneak out of the dorms. What he wasn't expecting to see was the Selwyn girl. She didn't exactly strike him as a rule breaker, or as someone who spent their time walking around spooky forests in the pitch black. He wasn't sure if she had seen him yet, given she was facing away from him. "You shouldn’t be out here by yourself," he finally spoke up, leaning against one of the trees as he did. "Didn't anyone ever tell you there's all sorts of monsters lurking around these woods?"

@chaotictendencies [ to be completely honest , she had been out there for hours . ironically enough , the forest calmed her , despite its very many dangers . but more importantly , she was out there for something as well . ] … reasonable ? [ aurora offered , finishing his sentence off for him , but she felt that even / that / wasn’t entirely the right word either . her eyebrow rose at his words , tilting her head to the side slightly at his comment about being less likely to eat her . amusement shon within her hues . ] I’m . . . honoured ? [ she chuckled , as her arms folded over her chest , leaning against a tree as she faced him properly . ] you’re not a monster , pyrites . ‘ monsters ‘ or not , we all have our demons . [ the strawberry blonde nodded , shrugging her shoulders , as the corners of her lips curled up slightly . ] mhm . I don’t doubt that you can handle yourself . . go on then . I don’t remember stopping you .

His company didn't exactly count. After all, he had just gotten here and who knows for certain how long she had been out here. "I think the ones outside of these woods are a little less..." he trailed off, not even entirely sure of what would have been the right word there. No less terrifying, of course, at least to some, but the things that lurked in here would have made even a death eater pause and think. Even if they were on the same side. Or supposed to be. He wasn't really sure how that worked. Dark magic could control some of them, but he was pretty sure not everything that wandered in the Forbidden Forest could be controlled, even by him. "I think I'm less likely to eat you then anything lurking around in here, even if I am one of those 'monsters' you have to be so careful around. But I needed something. And I'm more than equipped to deal with monsters, Selwyn."

@chaotictendencies [ the selwyn witch had heard him behind her before he even had a chance to speak . his footsteps had hardly been quiet , hence why she hadn’t bothered to even turn around . she had observed many things over the years , one of which had been the sound of people’s footsteps . each was distinct . it wasn’t easy to sneak up on her . ] ah , but I’m not by myself , am i ? [ she retorted , the corners of her lips twitching upwards slightly as she twisted her head round to glance at him , gesturing at him with her hand . ] there are monsters / outside / these woods too , pyrites . [ the strawberry blonde reminded him , raising her eyebrow , as if asking him to challenge what she’d said . she doubted that he could . eventually , a light chuckle left her lips , cutting through the cold air and the abnormal wakefulness of the forest . ] need i point out that you’re out here too , putting yourself in harms way ? . . . or are you one of these ‘ monsters ‘ that i should concern myself with ?
