I’m not asking anyone to sit and read all my stories leaving their own work behind. If you don’t have the time to read, that’s completely fine. But please don’t brand my stories as if I’m intentionally trying to hurt someone. You said you’ve read “Private Innings” but what about my other stories?
I’m not someone who only writes fluffy, feel-good plots. I have very few stories like that because I mostly focus on realistic emotions and realistic situations. And realism doesn’t always come wrapped in happiness. Sometimes it includes pain, misunderstandings, sorrow, vulnerability, or difficult phases too. Writing emotional conflict doesn’t mean I hate a character or want to degrade them. It simply means I’m trying to tell a layered story instead of a perfect fantasy where nothing painful ever happens. If a story personally makes someone uncomfortable, they absolutely have the choice to stop reading, and that’s valid. But assuming malicious intent behind every emotional plot is unfair to writers who genuinely put thought and emotion into their work.
