          Laying at his feet, the gaze of a slain young  boy caught his own, the boys blood pooled seeping into the cracks of the cobbled ground. Sucking in a breath he struggled to remove his eyes from the frozen stare. The horror filled orbs looked past the king as they stared absently up at the moon, crying for mercy. 
          
          Lupus felt weighted, blood covered his shaking hands. Glancing down a barely beating heart sat in the claws of his right hand. As the blood dripped the king looked  towards the sky. Tears poured down his face as the reality of what he'd done set deep into his bones.
          
          Crashing to his knees the mighty wolf king fell. Screaming out his pain Lupus howled at the moon until nothing but whimpers left his lips
          
          "Goddess, forgive my wretched soul"
