“Just a few minutes away from turning 16…
It feels a little unreal to say it out loud. Sixteen is not just a number to me—it feels like a quiet checkpoint in the middle of a story that is still being written, still being shaped by every word I choose to create.
If I look back, I don’t just see time passing. I see stories. I see characters who started as thoughts and slowly became voices in my mind. I see emotions I didn’t always know how to express, finding their place through writing. I see worlds I built when reality felt too heavy, and I see parts of myself hidden inside every chapter I wrote.
Writing didn’t just become something I do—it became something that taught me. It taught me patience when ideas didn’t come easily. It taught me understanding when I tried to step into the feelings of my own characters. It taught me how to feel deeply, even when I didn’t have the words for it at first.
Through my stories, I learned gratitude. Gratitude for imagination, for emotions, for the ability to turn thoughts into something alive on paper. Every story I wrote gave me something in return—growth, comfort, strength, and a deeper connection to myself.
And now, standing at the edge of 16, I feel thankful. Not just for the journey ahead, but for everything writing has already given me. For the versions of myself I’ve met through my own words. For the stories that healed me without me realizing it.
This isn’t just a birthday.
It’s another page in my story.”
