Dude, I just had some person with a super bot-ish username message me and offer to one of my stories on some app called hinovel? The app’s apparently downloadable but all of the roughly 10  reviews seem like bots, so I’m guessing this is some weird scam. Has anyone else had this happen?

@serpentauthor there was some profiles that follow me and they have a profile pic of a scenery, another language as a username or username that was most likely suppose to in another language; now just jumbled English letters; and there's nothing about them in their info box, and they didn't write a story themselves

Sometimes I kind of wonder about moving to another site, following the whole ads on stories thing. I mean, it’s completely legal for Wattpad to put ads on my stories, but it’s also kind of greedy and slightly insulting. I mean, don’t get me wrong, what I produce isn’t exactly Charles Dickens, but I did make it, I never chose to have adverts on it, and I don’t profit off those adverts, so I can’t much say I appreciate it.

@serpentauthor  I'd get upset too, and my work is bad. Those words and ideas came out of my brain, I made the story, so you don't get to get money off of them.

Isn't it kind weird that Wattpad makes money off books its authors wrote because of ad rev? Like, I get some it's fanfiction, but its not going to the original show/book/etc creators either. I assume this must be covered in the terms and conditions somewhere, but it seems a little dodgy

I've had ads on my headcanons book, so I don't think its that. I actually asked my friend who knows a bit more about this sort of thing than I do, and he says it's because Wattpad is the distributor or something
