            keishi gave pause when they caught sight of kazuyuki's smile, it was from the corner of their eye, but it almost made them want to start smiling too .. he looked so pretty, and they felt their cheeks turn the slightest shade of pink. 
            
            the ravenette sighed at his words,  ❝ i know you can handle yourself, but .. ❞  they'd fidget with the cuffs of the jacket, a frown tugging at their eyebrows.  ❝ i suppose i should.. just tell you everything. i know you well enough, i think. ❞  they scratched their cheek,  ❝ so.. my father is trying to look into who killed my mother, too. that's why i'm doing this. i'm surprised you didn't see the resemblance when i showed you her picture..? ❞

he watched them put the jacket back on again, and he smiled softly. he was glad at least someone could use the jacket he didn’t need. “don’t look at me like that. i told you, i’m fine.” he brushed them off with a grunt. “i don’t care if i get hurt. i can find a way to cheat the system, or however that saying goes. it’ll be alright.” he huffed out. “villains? on the same case as you? that’s new. i didn’t know that they looked into murders,” he admitted, confusion flickering across his face. “bleh. whatever. do they think they’ll get the information they want that way? they could be buying the person who killed whoever you’re investigating and they wouldn’t even know.” he stated.

            ❝ hmm.. ❞  keishi slipped the jacket back on, quietly relieved. it.. grown on them. they continued to use it even though they had a perfectly fit one at home.  ❝ what? but .. ❞  they frowned as he expressed indifference to his information, ❝ but it bothers you.. and i don't want you to get hurt because of me..❞  they sighed and rubbed their temple,  ❝ the large database they have on villains.. i'm guessing they're on the same case as i am. so he cares after all.. ❞  they mumbled the last bit to themselves, chewing on their thumb.  ❝ ahh.. the difference being that they can purchase information and people in bulk, while i'm just .. one person. ❞

            the ravenette was nervously waiting for their own order, being given their cup of hot chocolate just as the other left. they'd give pause when they seen a phone on the counter still,  ❝ huh..? ❞  they'd take it, looking behind them and scrambling out the door. ❝ w- wait! mist- mister..! ❞  they slipped on the icy sidewalk, sliding and barely able to keep themselves from falling as they slid next to him. 
            
            tapping it's shoulder, they offered him his phone, breathless and their legs trembling. ❝ here.. you forgot this. ❞  they offered him a shaky smile, a startled gasp leaving them as they'd slip again, grabbing onto his arm for stability.  ❝ ahh- sorry..! it's.. really slippery out here.. oh, i spilled my hot coco.. ❞

            admittedly, the intel they've managed to gather on akihiko was.. very much lacking. they had no photo, no physical description on the file they've nabbed from their father's office. he was elusive.  
            
            ❝ um.. ❞   they scratched their head. all clues led to him being here, but .. they weren't any closer to finding him. unless he was using a disguise? 
            
            ❝ i have some important questions for him. so.. i can't leave yet. um.. c- can i have your name, miss? ❞

            he  tilts  his  head  upon  hearing  the  question.  how  did  this  person  get  his  name .ᐣ   he  doesn't  remember  giving  it  away  for  free.  admittedly,  he's  a  little  intrigued.  but  he  masks  his  curiosity  with  nonchalance,  making  his  expression  unreadable.

            ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ why  you're  looking  for  him .ᐣ
            
            akihiko  is  a  masculine  name.  that  should  mean  they're  supposedly  looking  for  a  teenage  boy.  and  that  also  means  they  haven't  realized  yet  that  the  “girl”  standing  right  in  front  of  them  is  t͟h͟e  akihiko  minamoto  they're  seeking.  thank  god  for  his  cross—dressing  antics  …  he  can  easily  slip  past  situations  like  this  just  by  pretending  to  be  the  opposite  gender.

“i would have, yes.” he confirmed, only after they had slipped the jacket onto their own body. “good, do you feel any better now?” he queried, finally taking his first sip of his own hot chocolate, deeming it cool enough after the time he’d spent blowing on it. “is that meant to be a compliment?” he chuckled. “i don’t smile.. often. it’s not really..” he faltered.

            the idea of the male "forcing" them to take it.. wasn't too threatening.  ❝ ..are you going to make me put it on if i still said no..? ❞  but they accepted it with a sigh, settling it over their shoulders and slipping their arms through the sleeves. it was.. big on them. their hands couldn't be seen.  they held their hot coco with a sigh, taking a drink of it.  ❝ hm, it really is nice.. ❞  they'd smile at the other,  ❝ hey, this is the first time i've seen you not frown. you look.. um. nice.. ❞  they let out a nervous laugh, a finger scratching their cheek. 

“seriously? take the damn coat. i don’t need it. it was just for show anyway,” he muttered. “besides, if you can avoid the possibility of getting sick, take the chance. the temperature doesn’t look like it’ll get any better today, and if you’re cold now, you’ll still be cold later.” he said plainly, expression blank. “or am i going to have to force you to take it?”
            
            he let out a deep breath. “did you burn your tongue that badly? i mean.. the or chocolate /did/ just come out, so i  shouldn’t be surprised.”
            
            “i’m sure you’ll be fine. hot chocolate sometimes has a very strong taste. perhaps this one does too,” he hummed, continuing to lightly blow on his own.

            ❝ ah-! ❞  keishi really needed to pay attention to their surroundings ,, they nearly jumped a mile in the air after being greeted.  they turned their wavering gaze to the girl, her cheery demeanor easing their nerves. their shoulders slumped as they offered a smile, ❝ i'm.. keishi. keishi kazama. it's nice to meet you, uraraka.. ❞  they swallowed thickly, holding out a hand and allowing it to hang awkwardly for a moment .. this was how people usually act during their first meeting, right?
