            {  anais  isn't  easily  shaken.   she  prides  herself  on  not  caring  about  the  intensity  of  situations,   oftentimes  being  the  one  to  turn  up  the  heat  herself,   and  now  is  (almost)  no  different.   it  isn't  penny's  outburst  that  startles  her —   her  mother  is  *nicole  watterson*,   who  would  she  be  if  she  can't  handle  a  grumpy  teenager?  —   but  the  passion  behind  it  is ,,  nice,   she  thinks.    weird,   especially  considering  who  the  dimwit  in  question  is,   but  nice.   unexpectedly  her  lips  find  a  satisfied  smile,  settling  her  arms  over  her  chest.  }    relax.   it's  my  job  to  keep  him  humble.   if  i  didn't  stay  on  him  enough,   his  ego  would  inflate  his  head  like  a balloon.    {  another  cock  of  her  head  sends  black hair  shifting  over  her  neck,   analyzing  the  elder  with  the  same  cool  eye  as  her  mother  undoubtedly  will.  }    he's  also  sensitive.   when  he  first  began  his  crush  on  you,   he  stayed  in  his  room  listening  to  eighties  ballads.   the  assault  on  my  ears  was  unforgivable...  but  if  you  can  prove  it  was  worth  it,   i  might  consider  unbanning   'total  eclipse  of  the  heart'.     ( .. )    like  i  said,   he's  sensitive,   and  bullying  him  is  my  job.   (my)  job.

            i've  shared  a  house  with  him  for  my  entire  adolescence.   believe  me,   i  know  him.    {  unlike  penny,   anais  lacks  any  sympathy  for  her  dimwitted  brother's  actions  as  she  remains  firm  in  this  decision,   more  blunt  than  anything.  }    my  mom  had  poison  control  memorized  because  he  wouldn't  stay  out  of  the  chemicals.   if  you  look  at  an  mri,   you  can  tell  his  brain  has  shrunk  since  birth.   he  made  his  school  email  by  slamming  his  face  into  the  keyboard.   i  could  go  on,   but  i'm  a busy  woman.     ( .. )     do  you ,,   really  like  him?
