A writing mentor and poet, I'm the founder of 'the moving pen' creative writing classes in Toronto. I have a passion for writing discovery and really enjoy facilitating several ongoing weekly writing groups, and monthly workshops. I also lead writing retreats.
An editor and poet who has established and participated in writing groups for over 20 years, my work has been published in literary magazines and journals in both Canada and the U.S. including Fireweed (Toronto), Canadian Woman Studies (Toronto), Herizons (Winnipeg), The Prairie Journal (Calgary), Canadian Literature (Vancouver), Original Blessing (Oakland, California) and The Sun, A Magazine of Ideas (Chapel Hill, N.C). Over the years, I've been involved in a range of work including artistic direction and counseling individuals and families in crisis.
When I was 7, I ran away from Pine Valley Camp looking for something that better suited me, and I've certainly found it!

As a creative writing teacher, I've been in the presence of fine writing for many years, helping other writers to hone their work. One way that I further my interest in poetry is by bringing a poem into each workshop that I facilitate— I choose a poem and create a writing prompt from it, before posting the poem on my website, in this way exposing those who write with me to a wide variety of poets.
I've been the poetry judge for The Independent Schools of Ontario, the featured poet at the Canadian Women Studies book launch, and have facilitated writing workshops at Ryerson University and The Bleecker St Co-op, as well as in Kingston Ontario, and in Somerset, England. Every fall I host a reading at Ben McNally Books.
