Does anyone else go to rewrite novels but the rewrite is so different it might as well be a different book? Is there a name for this type of madness?

Have decided to rewrite Errant (again), but will continue to post chapters of my initial draft. Questions, comments, criticism welcome. I might even post what I think is weak about particular chapters if people are interested in that sort of thing! Thank you for the support!
