If only she had. His hands were wrapped around her throat, strangling her. No air. She couldn't breathe.


She couldn't take the shot. She loved him. But she couldn't breathe. No air.


A loud bang. The sound of a gunshot. Her finger was on the trigger. Fresh air flowed through her lungs again. Tears flowed down her face.


He uttered his last words.


"Hail HYDRA."
