Votes on books should come from a real love for the book, not just be handed out like candy. Candy is only sweet when you unwrap it and savor it, not just by looking at it. Similarly, vote-for-vote doesn’t bring true joy. Only real readers do.

@shinhaari Lol same, filing out those forms can get tiring. I've actually decided not to take on any more awards for a while until some of the ones I've entered get judged because I'd like to edit a bit but can't if they're being judged. And the v4v thing never works out for me because people don't seem to reciprocate and sometimes I've read stories that...tbh...I didn't like. It shouldn't be an obligation. A lot of times when I read, I forget to vote because I'm so engrossed in it. I'm learning now to pause and find the vote button before I go, or sometimes I'd remember like 3 days later and go vote on all chapters. But the person would know I read it because of my comments. I prefer doing that than being forced to read it. If I have to do that, I'd rather be an awards judge.
