 ⠀⠀⠀⠀ [hallie purses her lips in thought for a moment before her eyes light up. the clothing store was supposed to be good, cute clothes and halfway decent jewelry that she could definitely wear. specifically, jewelry to go with the clothes that wouldn’t turn her skin green because it was made from cheap material.]  ice cream /and/ the clothing store? you’re gonna be carrying a lot of bags, dad. /lots/ of bags.  [she was mostly joking, but alas, she was still a girl that loved shopping and having fun—- and a lot of internet knowledge from her numerous trips to midgard. some of which, she should not have learned, but that’s not a conversation she’s ever going to have with anyone.]

            * it wasn't the best distraction, but it was definitely a start and if Hallie wanted all the ice cream from the store, than Freyr was going to get it for her. even if it meant he had to eat the ones that tasted awful. a small smile touched his face as she came to stand beside him with that determined manner of hers, noting that it was the first time she had looked a little like her usual self since she had come to him with that question * We can get whatever your heart desires. Ice cream first and than maybe we can go shopping. You mentioned something about wanting to go to that new clothing store?

 ⠀⠀⠀⠀ lychee ice cream sounds horrible, but i’ve heard good things about the lychee peelerz or whatever they’re called. maybe we could get some of those, too.  [she knows what he’s doing, and she appreciates it a lot more than he’d ever know.]  they also have some green apple ones, and those look just absolutely delightful!  [as if out of habit, she plants herself next to him for the little journey of theirs. that was maybe her favorite part about existing, even when she shouldn’t. their adventures had always been her happiness, even when they were relatively short compared to some of the others.]

            Covered in blood? Me? Daisy, my darling, that isn't going to happen. Battlefield or not, unlike some savages who I shall not name, though they know exactly who they are, I tend to try and remain as blood free as possible. I do not need to be dripping in sticky, gross blood * not always an easy feat but he did manage it more often than not. there was no way he was ruining a perfectly good suit of armor with blood. that stuff stained and it just wasn't worth it * And here I was thinking it turned you on when I defended your honour. Oh well, I guess this noble knight must retire now. I shall no longer be fighting for Daisy Johnson's honour. She can fight for mine instead.

 ⠀⠀ [oh, daisy knew this fact well. she just wanted to hear him say it, and it’s rather unfortunate for her that he doesn’t even bother with a response for that one. he’ll give an answer to a rhetorical question, but not one that she genuinely wants to hear. what a mean man, her husband.]  as handsome as you are, i don’t really get all hot and bothered when my husband is covered in the blood of a diplomat. you wanna get bloody? go do that to someone trying to kill me, which is.. sort of what i was talking about in that instance, but it’s fine. i’m not even completely here, at least not.. uhm, i don’t know the word.  [she hums, fingers curling around the red tunic he’s got on. truly, red is in fact his color, and she loves it on him. to be fair, she also loves it off.]

            * probably not and he had a feeling she knew it too. and really, unlike his sister, would he have minded so much if Daisy was the one doing such a thing to him? * I think it's part of my job to be all protective. What sort of person would I be if I didn't lop off a diplomat's head for insulting you? * there was a tiny grin that accompanied those words, knowing perfectly well how to actually deal with diplomats and their insults. though he had to admit, it would have been satisfying *

we don’t really do wanted posters anymore, usually it’s just put on the news or on our phones.. usually with a very unflattering picture. it’s safe to say that if you kidnap me, you would not be as much of a model as you’d like to be.    [  it was hummed matter-of-factly, amusement trickling in. even now, she was sure he didn’t know much about their technology. sure, asgardians were more advanced but they seemed to have skipped right over the phone era. something daisy had known almost her entire life and hadn’t lived without.. except for that brief time where she wasn’t able to because of something she did so long ago.  ]    i can just get vacation time, don’t plan on kidnapping me please.

            Or I could just kidnap you * he added helpfully, tightening his grip around her just a fraction. it wouldn't go down well with her team but oh well, she was his first and he was pretty sure they could deal with the consequences by themselves * Think they'll put me on a wanted poster if I did? As long as they get my best angle, I don't suppose that'll be too much of a problem.

[  a soft sigh escaped her lips, fingertips clinging to the fabric that covered his back. in an oddly comforting way, he smelled the same— fresh as daisies. she wondered if that was intentional, but she never asked. she just appreciated it.  ]    i’ll see if mack will let me have a vacation. i hope so, given i’ve never taken one willingly. i don’t either, but we both knew what we were getting into when we got together.. even more so when we married.
