I think it’s because of the contrast- Monique’s discipline, ambition, and almost untouchable image against Hera’s unapologetic power and freedom.
What really stood out to me was how Hera changes with Monique. The respect, the restraint, the way consent becomes intimacy. That shift made their relationship feel earned, not just dramatic.
The fact that Monique keeps choosing her dream, even loving quietly, made ttc hit harder.
p.s. also… the mature scenes were unfairly good. Please continue ruining my standards, author. Haha
