It always sucks when a writing client falls through. Not because of the lost potential profit, but because a lot of the time, its because they're looking for someone to do it free of charge. Expecting a stranger to volunteer their time and skills, which leads straight down to being-taken-advantage-of blvd. People put little to no value on writers, no matter what industry they're working in. Especially, now that so many people will use AI, just so they don't have to pay for a writer. And even then, writers that do get paid are underpaid, uncredited, overworked. That isn't new. Even the Hollywood writer's strike wasn't enough to make things change, not really. And that's what really sucks.
