          	He stared at the doctor, the room spinning around him. His mind screamed for clarity, for understanding, something to make the impossible real. “What are you saying?” His voice cracked with desperation. He didn’t know. He couldn’t know. His mind refused to accept what his heart had just been told.
          	
          	The doctor looked at him with a trace of sympathy, as though bracing for the weight of what came next. “You didn’t know?” 
          	
          	Ranvijay’s head jerked in a sharp, instinctive shake, denial, disbelief, a frantic plea for some other answer. His eyes locked onto the doctor, desperate, frantic. He needed to know, needed to understand.
          	
          	“She was 1 month pregnant but due to the pressure on her stomach from the accident she had a miscarriage.”
