💫 More about my art origins:  Staying indoors during the pandemic is a shared experience for most of us - quarantining, stocking essentials, and running out of canvases to draw. During COVID, I was stuck quarantining in a room with paint, no paper and a book shelf. Since we were all prone to r&d at that time,  when we run out of paper.... Why not draw on their edges?

⚜️ I try to choose scenes from the books to paint on the edges. Those who have read the book with recognise the text and those who haven't may pick it up to read. I love bringing old books and the habit of reading back into circulation.

🔖 The books can be opened to read.
🔖 As it is a work of art, it requires a little delicate handling. Just simple measures such as using clean hands to touch, avoiding any contact with water and direct sunlight can increase the life of the paintings.
The first painting I made is from three years ago and it is still as vibrant even though I subjected it to a hard life to test it.
🔖 25 percentage of landfill wastes come from paper materials which can be recycled or reused. So thrifting, gifting and crafts that revive books (even if we cut up or stain them) are yet reviving them for a better life. Some of my novels are preloved books that are waiting to find a home with you. So watch out for you new roommates! :)
