my favourite subtle thing is writing ara’s progression back into comfort
          
          prologue - Having almost reached the top of the stairs, I feel yet another grasp on my wrist pulling me softly to look behind.
          
          ch 7 - I feel an impact starting to weigh in and quickly dodge it by ducking downwards, realizing a moment after that Jean was attempting to latch his arm around my shoulders
          
          ch 13 - "Ugh you're sweaty, get off," I nudge him with my elbow
          
          ch ?? - as i playfully slapped the back of my hand to his chest, eren stopped and grabbed it, gently folding it down to caress the palm of my hand, tracing the lines within.

genuine question on chapter length. what’s your preferred word count before reading starts feeling like a chore? my chapters are usually 5k+  words, but i could definitely start putting out more work if it was lessened. let me know!
