Lol, it's the opposite for me, but that's probably because I've been listening to rap my whole life, and I only started listening to a lot of rock in high school. There's nothing like a little Tupac to make Circuitry easier to understand =P. I can only listen to stuff like MGMT when I wanna just absorb the music.

Yeah, he's one of the only ones I like. Rap is just hard to listen to as well, I think. Like, you can listen to MGMT and study and it's all good, but when you've got a rapper yelling profanities at you, it's jarring.
Yea, I was just messing around =P. A lot of rap is less superficial than the mainstream stuff but they just don't get a lot of air time. Lupe Fiasco is an exception though, his stuff is thoughtful and he gets air time.
Panic! at the Disco IS amazing. The main reason I don't like rap is because, like country, the things people sing about are superficial, or just the same thing over and over again. And don't even get me started on the chauvinism, lol.
