@Foreverdot hmmmmmmmmmmmm.... I'm going off of the idea that this is an AU but u can really use this for any superhero story.. when it comes to the heroes themselves, give them fun or interesting powers that match them - does the og character have a lot of nautical or water motifs? Give them water powers! But make it interesting - make it so they can control any body of liquid as long as they themselves are not touching the liquid (for example, controlling the ocean! But they can't do it when they're standing in the water.) For the plot, give it a good villain - literally anything can make a good villain i promise. If you're writing an overarching story, start out slow and build the world - for example, in my mcyt superhero au I'm building the world by swapping to different character POVs to make the story feel more alive and interesting, giving different interlacing storylines that will eventually meet up to a main storyline with the big bad evil guy. Idk if this helped or if it made any sense LMAO but I hope this does help u
