my whole life has been leading up to the barbie movie 2023 & now idk what to do w/ myself after finishing it

don't usually do these sorts of things, but after reading some recent discourses online about halle & the live action film,, it has lead me to finally rant about this topic
if you feel the need to bash on halle or the fact that her actress should've been white,, pls stop,, i understand many ppl are not used to change & have seen this casting as a stripping of their "classic & beloved" mermaid,, but in all truth it's not and to paint this casting in a negative light is harmful & all around mean spirited
tlm 2023 is truly a beautiful film that has captured the magical feeling that was once there in the jodi benson version,, bringing it to a new generation of children who can finally now see themselves on screen that has previously not been possible up until the recent decade
seeing grown ppl online bully & harass the casting & actors/actresses that now portray these characters is weird & gross,, jodi benson's version will always be there for you to go back to,, instead of stomping on this new film, give it a chance and/or let a new audience enjoy & indulge in this film & experience it's magic and wonder

☆ no but seriously some ppl have been dunking on halle & it actually needs to stop,, there is no need to shame an actress for landing a role you see as unfit,, the criticism should be saved for the casting directors if there is a problem,, but besides that,, she's literally a sweetheart & her and jonah seem like absolute dolls
furthermore, i loved the casting for her sisters too,, if only i had the funds to buy the dolls cause lord knows i'd literally waste all my money it's not even funny
