So, Its hard to come up with the right words to describe how I feel as a New Zealander recently. To say the least, I’m distraught by the recent events that have taken place in Christchurch, New Zealand. My heart is broken to think that such a violent act of terrorism could happen here - my home - and to have shaken an entire group of people who have every right to be here just as I am.
To any person of Muslim faith, my heart aches for you and I’m so sorry that you have been given reason to feel scared in a place that you should feel safe - a second home you could say. You are welcome here, and I hope that in time you feel the peace that you deserve as a human being.
