I just read The Catcher in the Rye. So, my first thought about Holden Caulfield was "wow, he is whiny". That about sums it up. But he was a great character honestly. And I think Basket Case was also about him. 
          "I went to a whore, he said my life's a bore, so quit my whining cause it's bringing her down"
          I also think he might be asexual.
