[ the botched pickpocket leaves the specimen resisting the urge to pinch the very bridge of his nose. tail flicking with disdain as he keeps his resolve; choosing not to glance at the martyred phone, and to instead smooth over his nerves with a cigar pulled almost immediately from his breast pocket, and lit up almost twice as fast. ]

mmm benny is kinda fucked up if
          u think about it.    ;;

sixthire

noooo still thinking about this. benny will always show his belly & try to talk his way out of trouble. he is like that guy who goes " nooo u can't punch me.. i'm just a lil guy!! ". but if you turn your back on him he'll deff puncture u and i think he gets it from house. house was the first person he had to roll over for & conform to, and he immediately jumps at the first chance to sack the geezer. it's his nature, and vegas nurtured it, him killing bingo and becoming head of the chairmen was essentially his first taste of " oh if i hate the guy i listen to/don't like how that guy runs things i can just Kill Him ".

not to sympathize him but it's really apparent how he represses his " old ways " of being a bootrider,,, insisting that it was the" OLD " way and that living a life like that was bad etc etc & the strip is safe or whatever but i wonder if his original motive for joining house was, uh, his tribe not going extinct. like at the very start he DID care about the chairmen, he cared about swank, he was a shithead but not a selfish prick.

            most of the chairmen didn't even want to join house, esp bingo, but to benny it probably seemed like they were all self sabotaging themselves by keeping their pride & not kneeling at the robot w guns . like his insistence that they join and gain a "better" life was more of, 'we should join this guy so we don't get turned into red pudding, or fizzle out and die in a couple years ', rather than 'yes i want to live comfortably hehehe'.

            eventually yeah he diverges and becomes very set on pushing this narrative that house forcing a bunch of tribes to work for him as casino owners is somehow a good thing, that you should go with the flow, don't mess with progress... whatever.

            but tbh i think he sometimes wishes he were rolling around in dirt. i think part of him trying to stomp out the old days and his " tribal " ways is just him trying to bury himself in this mentality. that he doesn't miss campire stories, or feeling the sun on his skin all day ( bc he's grown soft and lame ). i think he can kinda understand that house sucks but repress it enough to deflect it and even, try to replace the guy, like him running vegas will make things better somehow... an idiot in a dumb suit.
