Can y’all think about the things you’re saying to writers please? The majority of you are fine and I love your comments and posts on my page so this probably isn’t about you.
But can some of you please remember
1. I am a person writing in my free time for FREE who doesn’t have to write this. Like I’m not AI, I’m an actual human person. I have feelings and I can tell when you’re being rude. Also it takes me time to write like it takes more time to write than it does to read and I know it’s just a fanfic but it’s just a fanfic I spent time writing so maybe think about that
2. If you don’t like something you don’t have to read it. If you have something that’s actually helpful then say it but think about what you want me to do with that information. In the past 2 days I’ve had 3 faceless accounts tell me they feel like the fic I spent a year writing was missing something (still don’t know what it’s missing because no one wants to say that). But what do you want me to do with this information?
3. I love all the comments and the interaction but if the only time you’re commenting is to say something negative it’s a bit weird
@BeyKells2 exactly!! The comments really fuel the writing like it’s so hard to know if it’s good or if you should keep writing if no one’s telling you anything. And then the same people who ignored it will complain if you take it down but it’s like how was I supposed to know you liked it if no one ever interacted with it… it sometimes feels like you’re just writing for no one and if that’s the case then why am I posting it. Idk. Some readers are great though
@skittlesandcake, You only spoke the truth, my dear. I agree with you. Another thing that's also uncomfortable is the fact that we read the story and people don't even like it or give us feedback. This reader participation helps and motivates us, but we don't always get a response. Then it ends up being demotivating to write, since they don't care (not all of them, I'm not generalizing).
