Something I think shows that a person lacks empathy is when they read out loud in class and it's a highly emotional passage and they read it completely flat like they're bored
Well society has to become desensitized to most unfortunate things in order to function because the world is overstimulating, we have too much information being imputed into our mind, and multitasking is impossible. So the mind fixates on whatever is in front of them. Our minds make us blur out the bad in order to stay sane. Otherwise, how would we get anything done?
