          I want to tell you something.
          
          I found a pretty flower one day.
          It was a rose.
          Black and red and white.
          It was really pretty.
          It had a smooth stem too.
          
          It got me thinking.
          So I say there staring.
          I didn't get too close.
          I was scared I'd break it.
          
          So I sat a way from it,
          On the side of the road.
          I just say there,
          Looking at it.
          
          The wind blew on it.
          The stem bent with it.
          A car drove by,
          And rolled over it.
          
          A little child came,
          Bouncing his ball about.
          His ball crushed the flower.
          I thought it died.
          
          I got up.
          I left.
          I came back the next day,
          It was still there.
          
          Broken and twisted...
          It looked sad and depressed.
          It was alone,
          Surrounded by daffodils and road.
          
          The little rose had grown.
          Now,
          It had thorns.
          The little rose had become a mesh of colours
          And it marvelled me beyond words.
          
          But still,
          I left it,
          By the side of the road.
          
          Years later,
          I came back,
          And what did I find.
          I thought the rose had withered 
          But lo,
          It had become a tree.
          
          I wondered how a little rose,
          Free so big
          And I remembered that that little rose,
          Was special.
          
          It had withstood the wind and rain,
          The sun and snow.
          The carelessness of men
          And the coarseness of beasts.
          
          It had been bent,
          But didn t break,
          Bruised,
          But couldn't be killed.
          
          And now that it was grown up,
          It couldnt be hid.
          Now everyone saw,
          The hidden gem,
          That it was.
          
          It's fragrabe filled the air.
          Called to both men and women,
          Young and old.
          We all sat beneath branches.
          Happy,
          Bold.
          
          But I alone remembered,
          And so does the rose,
          What it felt,
          When it was all...
          Alone.
