Day one
Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.
-Norman Cousins
I am I
A short poem by skyote
Perhaps, one day, I shall not die
For I, am I, and cannot die
And when I die, though some may cry
They’ll soon forget, that I am I
And on that day, when they don’t cry
I’ll never know, for I have died
They’ll never know, truth be told
Because fear has made me venerable
Scared to talk, scared to share
The words that I have painted there
They call me things that do not apply
Like she, oh me, But I am I
I’m not a girl
I’m not a boy
But some people still think of me as a
Conservatives toy
So on that day, the one I die
I never truly lived as me,
So I never truly died as I
