ngl i’m really disappointed that they didn’t make this music video specifically for drag path. don’t get me wrong, no hate at all to the artist, the video is beautiful and i love it!
but the fact that they used a 15 year old animation for DRAG PATH (the song that was initially intended only for the fans to pass to each other AND to fully finish off the storyline) instead of working with an artist to create something new and special for the song is a bit meh :/
i was hoping for something gut wrenching since the song makes me feel that way but now i’m just a bit sad lol

@InthenameofJoshDun just saw on instagram that someone emailed the animator to ask how the collaboration came about and he said that tyler was a long time fan of the film! so idk how far back that goes but it’s true!!

@InthenameofJoshDun yeah! like if that is true and they told us it was something they found years ago and have used as inspiration then it would change my feelings, and that would make it cooler and make much more sense. but i’m just not sure lol

@slowanathema im sooo on the fence about it bc i like the theory of Tyler seeing that video in 2010 and being inspired by it like the death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit line, which ultimately was the base of the story and in that case I actually think it fits so well… but also, we don’t know for sure if that’s the case. Maybe Tyler’s been coming back to that video for 15 years or maybe he discovered it last month lol. I wish we knew the choice behind this video

Me selfishly being happy that they only played 5 new songs lol :’) I’ve been so devastated about missing out on this tour as well but honestly knowing theres only 5 new ones makes me feel like I am not missing out THAT much and that there’s hopefully a chance that most of those will also be played at the festivals haha

I freaked out when I heard truce..I imagine some people already heard the truce instrumental backwards before like the goner instrumental backwards which I did hear years ago which is probably where Tyler got the idea from maybe
