Everleigh Maddox was a ray of sunshine. She could wait to start her teaching career at Blackford Preparatory. She had a perfect life (other than her father dying, but she was too young to remember that), and believed that everyone’s problems could be fixed with a smile… until she met him.
Leonardo Conklin always had a passion for reading. When his parents got divorced and started abusing him as an outlet for their anger he would always find himself escaping reality with a book. He has the mindset that no body is truly happy… until he met her.
Leonardo and Everleigh find themselves bickering back and forth non stop. Her cheery personality and insistence on calling him “Leo”, irritates him. His constant frown and emotional distance from everyone else, intrigued her.
Everleigh and Leonardo found themselves teaching each other more than they realized. She taught him to embrace the warmth of others, while he taught her that not everyone’s smile came easily.
