Ryan sat at the bar, sipping on a drink after a long day, feeling exhausted and ready to call it a night, but not before getting a buzz going. He downed his first shot quickly, then let out a heavy sigh. "I need another," he said to the bartender, holding out his empty shot glass. “How is your day going?” He finally asks to ease up the awkwardness.

He nodded. Some intoxicated customers could be annoying and hard to handle, to say the least. A tiny, slightly bitter laugh left Lannaril's scarred mouth.
"Yep. People can be difficult sometimes." His expression then warmed up again, "But I do enjoy working here. My dad owns this tavern, actually. So, I have a room and stuff." And then Lannaril decided to continue mentioning facts without considering that he might be oversharing, "We have a little house in the town, too. There's always people here, though. Just in case anyone decides to try somethin' stupid."

He watched as the woman ordered, clearly a few beers in. Getting drunk wasn't Ryan's thing, but it was interesting to see how others let loose. Some people got stupid, while others handled their liquor with ease. "I don't think I could do that... I mean, I've dealt with drunk people at work and it's always annoying," he said with a sigh. "But you seem to enjoy it here. Do you have a room here or something? Some taverns have living quarters, right?“

"Yeah, I will." Lannaril said dismissively with a mild wave of his hand. "Once I get my break. I've been working here for just under three years." And before he can add anything else, a woman with braided hair sauntered up to the bar and asked for another round. Lannaril obliged and placed the orders in front of her on a tray. The woman threw some gold pieces onto the counter before grabbing the tray of beers. Once she had walked back to her table, Lannaril turned back to Ryan and answered quietly, "I'm used to it. I've been brought up around them. This tavern is like a second home to me."

The lady took a seat at the bar, her demeanor that of someone down on their luck. She looked at the stranger behind the bar and raised her hand. "Hey, you the drink slinger 'round here? Could really use one." She requested before wipping her bruised cheek with the back of her hand.

She gave a grin, wether sarcastic or not was hard to tell. "Oh, this place comes with a therapy sesh too? I gotta come here more often." She joked before snatching the glass off the counter top. She took a big gulp and set it back on the counter. "Lets just say..." She let out a deep sigh before continuing. "been the fifth dead end this week and it's really getting on o-... /my/ nerves." She cracked her neck before taking another sip, a little slower now than the first. She just wanted the cold drink to get into her system at this point.

"Won't bore you with the details though... can't be the first walkin' in here looking like this, can I?" She said, pointing at the bruise again. She was trying to draw a attention away from her, wanting to make it seem like she is just another case of a sad, uninteresting drunk. Though it was probabaly too late with her odd habits and her... 'expressive' sense of fashion to play it off.

It was incredibly tempting to ask about the look she was giving to the empty space beside her. The bartender wanted to say something along the lines of 'It looks like you've seen a ghost', but he decided against it. He didn't know her enough to comment. Especially to say something like that.

"So," He placed the drink in front of her, "do you need to talk about it?" The question was ambiguous enough to leave it up to her interpretation. Maybe he could pry some of her thoughts from her.

She took a deep breathe for a moment, being calmed down a little from the day. The atmosphere in the bar definitly helped. Though it didn't stop her from casting a shadow with her gaze at the empty seat next to her. Like it insulted her somehow. She did begin to ignore soon after though.

The mercenary watched as her drink was being poured and listened attentively. " 'S that so? Will keep that in mind when I don't need to be... 'revitalized'." She returned in a playful tone. She found it a little endearing hearing someone speak like that. At least she sat a little more upright now, seemingly beginning to get over the fact that despite today, the world did end.

“There’s something unsettling about you, I don’t know why. You just give off an unpleasant vibe, who are you?” The woman quietly says, hovering her hand over the handle of her gun. She didn’t have any intentions of harming the other, unless they provoked her, but their presence felt a bit off.

"Oh." Was his simple reply as disappointment washed over his lean form. "I... don't want to talk about this anymore." With a small shrug of his shoulders, the male began to move. He was intending on walking away. Maybe he wouldn't get far. Either way, it would hopefully play as a mini distraction from the topic of conversation.

Georgia quickly picked up on the awkward cues from the other person, but she didn't let it bother her. It was only natural to encounter someone who was nervous, and she found it understandable. The woman raised an eyebrow, looking confused, unsure of what he was getting at. "Yeah, I'm normal... what's that got to do with anything?" she asked calmly.

Standing awkwardly, he stares at her hair instead of her face. Just so he doesn't feel as nervous.
"I don't think you'll appreciate the shock of hearing this, but I'm... from a place that's different." He nods at his own words. "Way different. You're a normal person, right? Nothing extraordinary, I mean."
Maybe he didn't realise that he had said something she could take offensively. It sure as hell did sound a bit insulting.

// lannaril is a changeling character based on dungeons and dragons lore. he can shapeshift. although this is kept a secret, and he is often seen in his preferred human form.
the human form is somewhat tanned and has dark brown hair.
his true form is going to be unspecified here until it is brought up in rp.

there's a lot of little facts about lannaril that are just waiting to be unearthed by people. there's more depth to him than meets the eye.

// mature and potentially upsetting themes may be mentioned in some roleplays. my character has a sad past, to say the least.
i'm an adult, and my character is also an adult– just to clarify.
