Is it only saved to your hard-drive? Even if you've uploaded it for a book cover, that image will only be tiny. So, It'll need to first be uploaded to a image sharing website, like photobucket. Then, after the image has been uploaded, there will be 4 types of URL. Copy the one that says 'Direct link' and paste it in a message to your friend. Hope that helps.
