﹠ꥌ꯭ ⸙꯭꠩ it's a mess all over, darling. do you want to come insi ⸺ [his breath hitches as she continues to speak, his grasp on the door slowly going loose.] you're leaving? [he's quiet for a moment. everyone seemed to be moving away from ketterdam, leaving him and dirtyhands in this damned city. he wishes he could stop her, just as much as he wishes he could have asked inej to reconsider her plans for leaving. in the end, he says nothing of the sort. what he does end up saying, when he finds his voice and has recollected his heart from the ground below him, is:] that's certainly very sudden. where will you go next? [he doesn't meet her eyes when he asks this. it's strange, how hushed his voice seems to be at the moment. he does not ask her why, he does not ask how he could help. jesper fahey is a man who has learned to say goodbye far too many times in this life. like with everyone who has left before her, he will say goodbye, and move on with his life with some piece of him missing eternally.] when are you leaving? we should at least have one more meal together. my treat, love! call this a celebratory event! [the cheer in his voice does not betray the anguish he feels. on the contrary, the wide grin on his face feels more unpleasant than anything else. still, he keeps it plastered on his visage.]

@thirdcorvus ( . . . ) what’s going on ? [ the blonde thief frowned slightly as she attempted to peer over his shoulder into the club . though her gaze drifted back to the sharpshooter at his question about kaz brekker . ] I’ve got some information for him that I think might be useful . about the dime lions— thought I’d make use of myself before I head off . . . [ had he ? had he really forgiven her ? because she couldn’t really tell , and though she had the means to find out , she refrained from going through his head again . she’d learnt from / that / mistake . but lena couldn’t help but be reminded of what he had said before - - that it was unfortunate that he knew her . she knew it was probably just said in a heated moment , but It made her realise that there really wasn’t anything left for her in the barrel . ] you’re forgiven . but , uh . . . you know what ? I think maybe I should get out of ketterdam for a little bit . find new territory .

﹠ꥌ꯭ ⸙꯭꠩ i never said that i didn't want you here. it's just a bad time. [stadwatch had been crawling all over the area lately, and word has it that they're out for blood. jesper has been standing guard by the door of the crow club for almost the entirety of the day. while there wasn't much that the officers could do about terrible habits, they certainly had the means to shut down illegal operations and scams disguised in the form of games of luck.] what business do you have with kaz? he's not here right now, but i'll be sure to pass the message along. [he's almost tempted to ignore the rest of her sentence and simply shut the door in her face out of pettiness. the urge is shoved down quickly, overwhelmed by some subconscious need to be on good terms with the people he likes. he tries for a smile. it's small, but its sincerity bleeds through nevertheless.] you know i've already forgiven you, darling. i'm not one for grudges. i'm sorry, too, for ... all that. forgive me?
