question: how do you guys feel when an author changes the faceclaim for a character on a show? for example, i've read some stories where the author will change harry potter's actor (daniel radcliffe) to a different actor...
it's because i've been plotting out a few stuff for the mark sloan book and... let's just say i paired the oc with an actor that now i just can't picture them apart *sobbing emojis*
i'll probably keep mark as eric dane (even though i'm traumatized after watching euphoria) but i just wanted some opinions :}
also! i'm almost done with my summer college courses, so once that's done i'll be able to start writing again!!

in all fairness, people can imagine whoever they want, your faceclaim is just for you, it isn't the law. if you wanna change someone's casting, do it, they can still imagine the original

@friessssssssss to me, it really doesn't matter. I've seen a tvd fanfiction where the author didn't only swap actors for 2 beloved characters, the new face claims were even of a whole different ethnicity. From white to black, and tbh, it fit the concept of the story so well. The author also gave the characters a different personality. nobody complained. Didn't even take me a minute to get used to the changes. It's just fanfiction and fun, nothing to be taken seriously to the extent that people should complain about stories if there is one thing they don't like. Like, if it hurts someone's feelings to see their favorite actor replaced by another, then that's a them problem. You can't cater to everyones needs and make everyone happy. If people complain, ignore it.
