            “ hey, don’t worry about it. it’s very nice to meet you, i’m really grateful for you calming her down and being patient with her. especially for giving her a signed puck — she’ll be obsessed with that for weeks. ames, what do we say to the nice man.? ”
            “ uhh — what’s mr nice man’s name.? ” 
            “ amy, i meant thank you — ”    ( amy hadn’t been wrong to ask that, but that hadn’t been what she’d meant for her to say. )

            “Well, it’s nice to meet you, Helena. Oh, here. I got these too. Gonna mail one to my niece, you can have the other cause I’m going to keep feeling bad about this whole thing for a while. This is Iceburgh, he’s our mascot.” He pulled out a little penguin plush. The thing had big eyes and a jersey on. “I don’t really have adult stuff in here. Uh. Hey! You want a shot glass? Why do I have so much merch actually. This is weird.”

            “ i try my best, ”   ( she admitted truthfully, amy tugging her hand to somewhere. in truth — she didn’t usually feel like a good mom. but maybe every mom always felt like that. ) 

" well,  lucky her . she's got a great mom " to him she seemed like one, his mom never took him to get ice cream . in fact, she left him .

            ( helena only seemed to glance at him, her attention focusing on amy. )    “ she’s been begging and insisting i take her to get ice cream for daayyyss, so — here we are. ” 

" yeah ! it's really not a problem " nick wasn't one to complain about much, he wanted to make this as good of an experience for her incase she needed her yard done again, hoping he could do it . " i just gotta get my stuff, then ya can show me the yard, yeah ? "

            “ thank you * so* much, ”    ( with a warm smile spread across her lips, a relieved sigh left parted lips. she hoped she wasn’t giving him too much trouble with her request, but she also needed a break. she was just glad that he wasn’t making a fuss of it, and actually complying. ) 

" yeah,  totally . it's not a big deal . i'll be as quiet as possible " he'd smile . he wasn't sure what he'd mow the lawn with but he could probably do other stuff with the yard, he'd figure it out
