This is the story of how my life really started. Oh, where to start, where to start? I guess this is a place as good as any to start. I might as well tell you what happened after the incident. Because of that car accident, my life changed forever. I had to get a mechanical leg. I detested the mechanical leg. I felt like I had no control over it. Whenever I walked using it, I felt all wobbly. So I refused to go anywhere outside my house unless I had a wheelchair to help me move around.Over time, it also made me really shy. One of the biggest changes was that since I refused to do sports or any physical education, my dad made me find a hobby. So I picked to play the keyboard. I found out that I liked to sing when I played, too. And I absolutely fell in love with it!Another thing is that in P.E., I didn’t have to do what the class was doing, but the teacher and my father worked out that I should at least get a little bit of exercise each day. So I did that by having to put on my gym clothes like everybody else and I had to walk around and practice using my “leg.”Im still amazed that my dad could stay so persistent, even after everything he’d been through. I mean, think about it, my dad lost his wife and was left alone by himself to take care of two little girls. He didn’t have any idea how to do it, but somehow my dad did. He stayed strong, no matter how hard it hurt.He was brave, and I’m really proud of him for that.I guess it was really easy for Bella, because she was young and didn’t even know our mom like I did. But it could also have been so much harder for her, because she didn’t have a mom to help her out when times were tough. It might have made it better that she had me watching out for her. She has always looked up to me so much. And I will love her until the day I die.I was devastated when my mom died. But I made it through, knowing that my mom would be there waiting for me in heaven, watching over my family night and day, making sure everything was alright.
