A long time ago, I used to have some pretty intense nightmares as a kid. Probably the most frightening nightmares a kid could ever have.  They were so terrifying that at one point in my young life, I was too afraid to sleep. When the nightmares continued into high school, I had had about enough. I didn't quite know who to talk to about this at first, I didn't have money for a fancy therapist and I was too embarrassed to talk about this with friends.  And when I did tell some friends about these nightmares, they'd completely tune me out.  SO, I did what any normal person would do and turned to THE INTERNET!!  There, I found a plethora of information about nightmares, dreams and the like.  

During my research, I stumbled upon a very interesting area of study called Lucid Dreaming.  By definition, lucid dreaming means that a dreamer is aware that they are dreaming.  During the dream, the dreamer may be able to have some control over the dream characters, narrative and environment.  I found numerous studies conducted by professionals about lucid dreaming and it's capabilities.  I figured, "Hey, maybe something like this could help me."

And so, over the course of my high school career, I studied lucid dreaming techniques in an attempt to find a way to combat my nightmarish plague.  Long story short.....IT WORKED!!  I was able to find a technique that really worked for me.  And one by one I began to counter every single nightmare I had until eventually, the nightmares turned into really fun dreams.  The cool part about all of this is that whilst lucid dreaming throughout the end of high school and college, I developed almost an innate ability to vividly remember a lot of my dreams, whether I was lucid in the dream or not.  And now, my best friend and girlfriend Julia has encouraged me to share my experiences with the world.  The stories that you read from me are all direct narratives from the dreams I've had.
