To My Little Sister
Dear dib ,
I never thought I would be writing this chapter.
Out of all the friendships I made here, ours is one of the ones I will remember the most.
And every time you called me your big sister, your guardian, or someone important in your life, I believed those words with my whole heart.
I'm not writing this letter to reopen old wounds.
I'm not writing this letter to prove who was right or who was wrong.
At this point, none of that matters anymore.
What matters is that once upon a time, we cared about each other.
And I don't want to leave without acknowledging that.
If I ever hurt you, misunderstood you, disappointed you, or failed you as a friend, I am truly sorry.
Maybe if we had both understood each other better at that time, things would have been different.
Maybe not.
But I still wanted to say sorry for my part.
Not because I'm taking all the blame.
But because I want to leave with honesty in my heart.
You may think I was a terrible friend.
You may think I didn't care.
You may think I never understood you.
I can't change how you see me.
But there is one thing I want you to know.
Everything good I ever told you was real.
Every time I encouraged you, cared for you, worried about you, or wanted the best for you, I meant it.
Every single word.
The only words I wish I could take back are the ones spoken in anger.
I know our friendship has reached a point where it cannot be repaired.
I tried.
Still, no matter what happened between us, I will always be grateful that our paths crossed.
Thank you for being my little sister.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for the months we shared.
And wherever life takes you, I sincerely hope it gives you happiness, peace, success, and people who love you the way you deserve to be loved.
Take care of yourself.
And if one day you happen to remember me, I hope you remember at least one happy memory between us.
With love,
-who was once you big sister
