Fun fact: I just discovered that the person who invented rock and roll was a Black woman who also played guitar, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, even before Elvis. It reminds me of Daises when she said she didn’t have a place in rock, that it wasn’t “for girls like her.” The irony is that it was created by a girl just like her.

            The real history can’t be completely rewritten,some people leave marks that are impossible to erase. The same goes for women.Rosetta was often told that she played “like a man” because the guitar was considered a male instrument. Meanwhile, Elvis Presley faced censorship early in his career because people said he performed and moved “like a Black man.” But as he became more popular, rock and roll was increasingly associated with him because a white face was more acceptable to much of the mainstream public at the time.
            Women, on the other hand, were frequently overlooked and underestimated despite their influence.

@CelestialBirdz It’s kinda poetic in a sense that for years they’ve tried to erase the true history of rock&roll and try to paint Elvis as the father of it when in reality a lot of his work is from Black people: one of his most famous songs ‘Hound Dog’ originally belonged to Big Mama Thornton who received very little credit . So, for Daisy as a Black woman herself who’s gonna become a legend in her own right  & break barriers in a genre where its history has tried to be repainted is awesome

hi everyone!! this is for people following me, people who enjoy any of my books (specifically my mj one, more on that in a sec lol), and just a general PSA. 
          
          id just like to clarify that i have not, will not, and will never use AI in any aspect of my fics EVER. regardless if its for ideas, actually writing, etc etc etc. 
          
          i haven’t been accused of using AI, but i just want to make my stance on AI in writing clear to my little corner of mooties and accs who are active on my books (love you guys <3). there have been discussions around AI usage in MJ fanfics, especially on tumblr, and i just wanted to be clear about where i stand for future notice.
          
          my writing has a lot of the common indications of AI writing i see people warn about (use of em dashes and commas, extremely descriptive language, etc…im just a chronic run on sentence user, have been since i literally could write) and the last thing i’d want is to someone to see that and think it’s a product of some bot. all my writing is 100% my own. if i take inspiration from another fic or writer, ill always credit them in the author’s note. 
          
          writing is a passion of mine and it always has been so i genuinely have no use for AI in writing. other authors using AI in their work has nothing to do with me and that’s solely their choice. i personally don’t and i wanted to make that incredibly clear!!
