༄.° { @lafaeys } her feet had a mind of theid own as she all but run towards the lake's edge. the soft sound of cicadas could be heard from the deeply rooted tree, their branches spreading wide, engulfing like wings that have been spread across the field. poppies and chamomile grew in abundance along the hills as her bare feet run over a few. one more excuse of a plant to gather in order to catch a glimpse of him yet again. ))

(( her feet came to a stop slowly as she reached the same lake she had always seen, frogs inhabiting near it, water lillies spreading over it's water scarcely and fireflies settling subtle light whenever night reached. eliora's hands let the small, brown basket on the grassy ground before she situated herself on the same little spot. she leaned over the water then, heart thumping in her chest in anticipation? in excitement? in something she had felt for the first time and held no name for. joy was accurate a word as her reflexion melted into his, his lips moving as he stared somewhere far off. he seemed calmer, yet sorrow was still evident in his grey orbs. it was apparent compared to the joy she jad once seen in them. they were shining then, pure like a child's gaze. she listened to him, hie low voice capturingher attentionyet again, muffled, as if it had been carried fromfar away. she waited for a moment and then, with a hammering heart, she decided to speak, her rosy lips parting timidly. would he be able to hear? she prayed he would. ))

you don't seem like a bad man to me.

⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⋆ ⠀the confession spilled from his lips once more. again, he stood by the riverbank, speaking to the quaking reflection of himself. although, he took a seat then, the moss of grass being dryer today. wülfric cast a willful look to the tree across the land from this river, and spoke with a bitter breath. ⋆ ⠀

⠀⠀ and, i must add. i find myself to be quite bitter these days. a bad man, indeed.

⠀⠀⠀ the greater the distance—(.)a folly in itself, right? what are the odds of an honest man triumphing over the doom of evil?

 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ HE RECALLED,
the way it had reacted to him, nearly frightening him to the core. he was no fool where it concerned him, he’d seen enough during his time in the military to know portals existed. yet, never had it crossed his mind that he’d become a sole witness to it, if not; one to encounter it. his mood staled at the thought. he didn’t want another encounter, not with whatever lived on the other side. his mind conjured a hideous thing, and his lips thinned at the mental image. yet, propelled at whatever forced lived within the depth of the water, he knelt before he could reason within himself.
reaching once again. he let his palm hover above the water’s surface. raindrops plopping, shattered the smooth currents, as if prickles of needles thistled through skin.

 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀━━━ SOFT PATTER OF RAIN.
⠀⠀⠀ how ceaselessly the dewdrops of rain splattered against the dark of gravel sand, meshed as one of sand. irrevocably, it was similar to his life. though, a tide smaller, whereas he was a beckoned sea, unable to conform into what stood afore him.
crashing waves filled the sound in his ears, but a timbre of it. rather rather, pulled the disarray of his mind to reality. cold knuckles, whitened from the bard of rain, chilled, tightened. his umbrella bore the weight of the storm rising above him, thunder rolling in warning. yet, he was unmoved by the threat of nature clinging to his shoulders with a seeping chill.

            ⠀ ⠀ WÜLFRIC BLINKED.
dazed, he looked at the river. the very same one. one spoken of by his father, growing up it had become a fascinating tale. often, he’d share it with miri, especially during rain storms, and snowy blizzards. one too many times, with isla, then with miri’s brother. but along the late night stories shared, he’d spare the only hour left during the night for her. cheeks, drawn tight with a bard of breath, he raised his hand to massage his temple. pain pulsed, as livid as his memories. as it settled, rarely soothed, but it had for now, his focus returned to the riverbank. a sight as sore as the troubling thoughts plaguing him. but it had not been as wiring as what rippled through the water. wülfric took several steps toward the riverbank, coming to stand by the edge again. he hadn’t been here since… it’d happened. his mind turned to the same tale, reminiscing as he compared the similarity between the river from his father’s tales, and this… creature of a thing.

why are you making that face? (( she spoke and his face changed once more. he eyes widened in realization then and her feet pushed her away from the lake faster than she was able to process, making her fall about. she placed a hand above her speeding heartbeat then as shallow breaths left her, panic mixed with something else. something new to her. did he...hear her? did he see her? she was too afraid to shift close to the lake against to find out. instead, she gathered the only slightly filled with herbs basket, oregano, rosemary and thyme all that smelled as she walked with a heart impossibly loud in her ears, and cheeks too rosy to have been caused by gathering herbs. yet, she cared not what her parents was say or do. all that remained in her heart was his surprise expression as joy slowly took over her nervouness. her prayers had been answered...he had seen her. the rest of the day felt impossibly long. if only time would pass by a bit faster, just a bit..she would be able to see him again and this time she would not run away. ))
