STRANGER THINGS FINALE SPOILERS BELOW
One thing that has been stuck in my head since NYE is this dialogue (not in the show) but I can definitely see Hopper thinking this “Maybe I wasn’t meant to be a father.” I mean man lost BOTH of his daughters, that’s not something a parent can cope with. He was just getting to a spot where he was able to cope with the loss of Sarah, and that wasn’t even something in his control. Hopper is going to go the rest of his life with a little voice in the back of his head telling him he should have done more to keep El from making the choice she did.
