Forgot to announce this yesterday, but Chapter 5 of “Windsor Lane” is here! This is a steamier one, though it also includes more of Rosie’s sweet awkwardness and some important reveals.
          
          “With a swallow, I forced myself to look at her face so I could offer an apologetic smile.
          
          Then I froze.
          
          Her eyes were darker than ever, gaze fastened to my lace-adorned cleavage... and I could have sworn she was breathing a little faster than before.”

Chapter 4 of "Windsor Lane" is hot off the press, titled "Strip Like You Mean It." It's a bit of a mix of the previous chapters: aggravating, sweet, embarrassing, and a little hot... 
          
          I reached for the bottom of my blouse—then stopped again, face hot and heart thumping. “In full disclosure, the last time I took my clothes off in front of someone else, they said, ‘Rosie, have you no decency? Why are you stripping in front of a man?’ And while I’m definitely not overly sensitive, I do wonder if the sight of my naked body might be just ever so slightly…” I cleared my throat. “...offensive.”
          She stared at me. “Thomas said that?”
          “Well, considering the circumstances, he was being rather polite.”
          “Considering the circumstances? If I were a man, I’d be dreaming about how that soft strawberry hair might slip between my fingers, I’d be starving for a taste of those sweet lips, and I’d be absolutely aching to find out what lies beneath that unflattering blouse.”
          A good deal of heat rushed over my skin and swirled in my belly before I managed to focus on the last (more answerable) portion. “Unflattering, really? My mother gave me this!”
          “I’m sure your mother is very sweet, Rosie.”

          Chapter 2 of "Windsor Lane" is hot off the press! I'm not going to lie, I really had fun embarrassing poor Rosie in this one. Now that I'm finding Rosie's voice, I think this novella may be a bit more comedic than I anticipated---which is a welcome revelation since the subject material is a bit heavy and entirely too real.

Hey all, I've just posted a new story! After two years of missing out on ONC, I'm participating again.
          
          Disclaimer: this story is WILDLY different from "Lord of the Night" (goodgirlxbadgirl in 1980s suburbia with a side helping of Christian guilt). It's also hopefully going to be an actual novella (I swear I can actually do such a thing, damn it!); I'm shooting for one-tenth of the word count and time that "Lord of the Night" required.
