at the mention of her family, kara stopped messing with the ring on her finger. a small smile formed on her lips as she fixed its position before she showed the soldier her hand. “well, i got engaged, so i think you could say the family’s doing alright,” she laughed, scrunching up her nose slightly as she did so, “and both the kids are happy and healthy, so that’s all i could ever want.”

kara was a worrier, and that was easy to tell if someone was around her long enough. and once she knew someone for a bit, they were added to the list of things she worried about. könig was no exception to the rule. never knowing when she’d see the soldier again only made it worse. “oh, don’t you try and flatter me, könig,” she chuckled, mindlessly turning her ring around her finger as she looked up at him. “it’s good to see you’re in one piece though.”
