In light of recent events, I wanted to express how much I’m in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and how we have had enough of lives being lost because cops felt “threatened”. I’m a teenager who has common sense to know that police brutality, the corrupt system, and racism are huge problems in our country and how it has never been fixed, only swept under the rug, yet adults can’t comprehend this. When we learn or search for the Civil Rights Movement pictures are usually in black and white, so we think that it was so long ago and how we can be proud of our “progress”, yet if you do the math the civil rights movement was around 70 years ago, and racism is still a huge problem in our country and if you don’t see the problem about that, then you’re part of the problem. I might be young, but I know that a revolution for CHANGE is happening right before our eyes, and we know how to lead the revolution because we grew up with dystopian books/ movies. To those who are POC we have to unite, so I say to you as a Mexican, I support my black brothers and sisters. If you’re protesting in your cities , please be careful out there, don’t go alone.
