My name is Maureen, like a couple other authors out there, and that occasionally gives me small identity crises. Is there a small percent of a chance that I'm part of a conspiracy of author-clone Maureens, infiltrating the literary world with our fiction? Who knows. 

I write weird fantasy, occasionally spiked with horror and sci-fi; I'm particularly fond of smartass heroines, fairy tale retellings, queer characters of all kinds (being a queer lady myself), complicated morality and tales of FRIENDSHIP. Also the occasional romance. But lots of FRIENDSHIP. 

My current projects: I write the script for a fantasy webcomic called Hourglass (http://thehourglasscomic.tumblr.com/page/9), and I'm always working on short stories and longer projects.
