@spnfan77 wow. I had never ever heard about different types of hearing loss. I hope that the people around you make an effort to learn ASL. When I was little my curiosity got the best of me and so I learned the alphabet and common words, but I didint actually have a reason to practice so I forgot what I had previously learned and so now I at least practice the alphabet everyday, mostly with the mentality that maybe some day it will be of use when interacting with someone. I have always really hoped that everyone thinks the same way. I don't wish I was deaf but I didnt ask for my hearing sense either. Oh and I cant imagine how heard it must be, not only being deaf but also being the only one in the family. I hope you dont feel left out but special, that even though you cannot hear like others do, you recognize that at the end of the day you dont 'need' hearing. You just need yourself and a little bit of will. I hope you the best, hearing or not!
