          The idea came to me in 2009 and I finished it in 2012, my dedications going to a lady who encouraged me to finish it and the lady who surprised me with a gift of the book cover.
          
          So I set the story at Perryville, Maryland,  at the Denny's where we often have breakfast. 
          
          You will find the ending a surprise.

          The story is set in Liberia where I served as a Peace Corps teacher at Holy Cross Mission in Bolahun.
          
          The story A Girl Redeemed, which is about Lisa Doubek's struggle for self-respect, ends at Holy Cross Mission.
          
          So these stories include my experiences in Africa woven into the narrative.
          
          Real people inspire my characters.
          
          I actually knew Harry Moniba, the Vice President.
